Gloria Yoder, affectionately known by many of her fans as Mrs. Yoder, had long harbored dreams of opening up her own restaurant. While Eli initially opposed this notion as he felt that Mt. Hope wouldn't support such an establishment, Gloria persisted with her desire and eventually succeeded.
Now, over 16 years later, their business is flourishing and has become a favorite destination for both locals and tourists seeking an authentic Amish experience.
Breakfast
Breakfast is the cornerstone of daily nutrition; it kick-starts your metabolism, provides energy to power through tasks and helps enhance memory and concentration skills, all of which contribute to weight control, blood sugar regulation and cholesterol reduction. Gloria Yoder recognized this need when she established Mrs. Yoder's Kitchen - an Amish restaurant located across from Mt. Hope Livestock Auction in Mt. Hope village.
On Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays this restaurant offers buffet-style lunch and dinner in buffet format. Their menu offers delicious Amish classics such as fried chicken, pork chops, roast beef and grilled perch; homemade pies can also be found. They use produce from nearby farms as well as make their own applesauce from bushels of fresh apples!
Lunch

Open for breakfast and lunch Wednesday through Saturday as well as dinner Monday through Saturday (with special buffet nights for seafood, Mexican, Irish and German cuisine on select nights) the restaurant also boasts an expansive salad bar with freshly made bread delivered daily and an informative newsletter that keeps diners informed of upcoming specials - both available free at the restaurant itself!

Dinner served by this restaurant should not be missed; its dishes include traditional fried chicken, roast beef, cabbage casserole and peanut butter pie - not forgetting their famous all-you-can-eat buffet on Wednesday and Saturday nights and steak dinner on Friday evenings as well as its incredible salad bar and delicious dessert selections!

At Hartville Kitchen's well-stocked salad bar, I made myself an exquisite salad of mixed greens, hard-boiled eggs, peas, shredded cheese and crumbled bacon dressed with Hartville Kitchen-style poppy seed dressing. Other choices available to guests include soups as well as side dishes such as sweet potato fries. Moreover, homemade ice cream options were also available!

Known for their famous fried chicken dishes as well as other mouthwatering fare served here, Mrs. Yoder's is beloved restaurant which serves delicious meals that visitors and locals alike.
Popular items at this restaurant include Broasted Chicken and Grilled Perch. In addition, we serve pot Roast Beef, Turkey, Pork Chops, Ham & Cod as well as our homemade Dressings with an assortment of vegetables available at our Salad Bar.
On top of its regular menu, this restaurant provides seafood buffets in January and April as well as Mexican, Irish and German specialties throughout the year. In particular, they are famous for their great pies such as apple pie, cherry pie, custard pie, black raspberry pie and raisin cream pie that come complete with scoops of ice cream to complete each dessert!
