Is Lox Club Really Effective?

lox club

When Lox Club debuted as "a membership-based dating app with ridiculously high standards" in 2020, it was an ambitious step. Intended to cut through the noise of other dating apps, it required an application, membership committee and annual subscription fee in order to remain effective - however this gimmick appears to have worked: media attention has been generated for Lox Club as it currently holds 4.4 stars on both App Store and Google Play platforms.

One look through the app shows that, unlike Tinder, potential matches will be carefully selected to fit a given profile. Applying requires providing detailed answers about everything from your career history and future ambitions (there's even an area for sharing the theme of your bar/bat mitzvah!) To further narrow down matches you have, Instagram allows for sharing an entire feed with smart-aleck comments; choose only pictures that best reflect who you are for your profile.

Once past the application stage, you'll only be allowed to see up to 12 profiles at any one time; these matches will be chosen by matchmakers who won't hesitate to use their discretion when selecting matches for you.

Austin Kevitch, who created the app, says he did so to "mask my sadness about being single by making something fun." Whether or not the concept proves effective remains to be seen; nevertheless, in a world where many users must balance dating with work and children simultaneously, it could certainly take hold.
