Delta faucets feature two inset holes (one for hot and one for cold) above their valve stem, where a metal spring and rubber seat fit securely together. When water flows into either of these holes when you turn your handle, until you position your handle to stop it; at that point, they seal shut and prevent water from leaving until your handle is turned back on again. The RP4993 seat and spring assembly is an OEM replacement designed to repair common Delta faucet issues; simply use a wrench for installation of this part.
