There's nothing quite as relaxing and enjoyable as sitting around a beach bonfire to watch the sunset, and Orange County offers many beaches with fire pits that provide ideal spots to do just that. But to truly make your beach bonfire enjoyable and ensure it goes off without a hitch here are some helpful tips on ensuring its success:
La Jolla Shores Beach
Situated on the northern side of city, La Jolla Shores Beach boasts six bonfire pits available on a first-come first-serve basis. Weekends tend to be busy here so be sure to arrive early if you wish to secure one of these pits - city ordinance requires two adults present during bonfires so plan ahead!
Dockweiler Beach's 87 bonfire pits are much sought-after; however, due to sea turtle nesting season they're only open from mid-April through October. While many claim that they can pay TaskRabbit "taskers" or high school students to reserve one for them without authorization this is strictly not allowed.
Balboa Peninsula Beach in Laguna Beach provides a quiet place for hosting bonfires in more secluded settings, featuring both paid parking right near beach access and a park within walking distance, making this beach ideal for family fun with playgrounds, surfing lessons and much more!
