As its name implies, tasty kitchen is dedicated to offering recipes that are both mouthwateringly delicious and simple to make. Their site excels at zoomed-in closeup shots that entice salivation as much as the actual food itself - but Tasty goes further: most of their producers aren't professional chefs themselves so their focus is more on making cooking accessible for everyday home chefs by providing step-by-step instructions with visual cues (no TV kitchen needed!).
Tasty Kitchen has amassed more than 62 billion lifetime views across all platforms and now encompasses nine spin off sites like Tasty Japan, Bien Tasty and Tasty Vegetarian. Furthermore, it features its own YouTube channel as well as the Tasty 101 series that guides viewers through more complex recipes and techniques.
TODAY Food visited the Tasty Kitchen studio in New York City to witness how everything is put together. Producers Alix Traeger and Alexis deBoschnek showed us their pristine workstations as they prepared for shoots, and also allowed TODAY Food to sample some of their delicious food -- scalloped potatoes four ways, croquembouche tower of cream puffs glued together with caramel, and meatball-filled pastry rings among them!
